Due to the Covid-19 situation and extraordinary pressures on the NHS acute services, Ninewells Assisted Conception Unit has taken a difficult decision to suspend all fertility treatment for the foreseeable future.

Some of the reasons are

  • Unknown effects of Covid 19 on pregnancy.
  • Avoidance of patients entering hospital environment for elective procedures and minimisation of transmission of virus.
  • Avoidance of complications of treatment which would place patients at unnecessary risk.
  • ACU staff getting redeployed to other acute services.

We will post a link to “frequently asked questions” shortly on our website.  The Scottish Government provides a daily update at 2pm. Please visit https://www.gov.scot/coronavirus-covid-19/

Please try not to contact us unless you really need to as our staff are incredibly busy. Our thoughts are with you all at this very uncertain time.
